Noelle had never been so furious.

Glaring at Laura, she said, "You can insult me all you want, but I won't allow you to insult my best friend!"

Laura held her face for a few seconds in shock before snapping back to her senses, the burning pain reminding her of what had transpired.

She had just been humiliated.

Laura was already in a foul mood—not just because of Ruth's abduction, but also because of the difficulties the Merlocks faced in their business.

She had been racking her brain trying to negotiate for business deals to alleviate the company's dire situation, never expecting to run into Noelle in L Bistro.

As far as she had known, everything that had happened to the Merlock family was thanks to that bitch, Noelle.

She believed that she would have been married to Cedric by now if not for Noelle seducing him.

If she had become Mrs. Greene, the Greene family would definitely have helped the Merlock family as well, and they would not have ended up in such a pitiful state.

She blamed all of the mockery and indifference she had received recently entirely on Noelle.

Laura shrieked, "What are you all standing around for? Didn't you see me get slapped? Get her, all of you!"

His eyes turned bloodshot with rage. She was determined to teach Noelle a brutal lesson.

Pointing at Noelle, she roared, "Teach that shameless and arrogant woman a lesson that she won't forget!"

Seeing the group of men charging toward her, Noelle immediately moved Mia behind her, saying, "Stay back and don't get in the way."

Mia was worried about Noelle, so she immediately took out her phone to try calling Eugene for help.

However, when she looked up, she saw Noelle grabbing one of the men and flipping him over her shoulder before slamming him onto the ground.

If she had to apologize, she might as well go all the way.

With that, she gave Laura another slap.

Then, grabbing Laura by the hair, Noelle warned, "Come at me if you have a problem. If I ever hear you talk to Mia like that again, it won't just be slaps next time, though."

Laura glared at Noelle with bloodshot eyes and shouted, "You bitch! It's all your fault that my family ended up like this! Do you think someone as lowly as you can really get into high society? In your dreams!"

"My relationship with Cedric is none of your business."

"What are you so smug about, Noelle? Did you really think that you could be together with him? You have absolutely no idea what he's been hiding from you."

Noelle glanced at Laura and replied, "Whatever he's hiding from me is between us. It has nothing to do with you. You must be really jealous that Cedric treats me well, while he won't even spare you a glance."
