Noelle couldn't believe what she was hearing. Xenia's words were utterly absurd. How could the Greenes have been involved in what happened back then? That was impossible.

She knew very well how Emma and Cedric were; they were completely different from the Merlocks.

Noelle shot Xenia a glare and said, "Oh, it's Xenia indeed, always trying to sow discord. Do you think I'd believe a word you say?"

Xenia's tone was almost identical to Laura's. Both of them were desperate to keep her away from Cedric and eager to make her doubt him and start a fight.

Noelle had been tricked once by Laura. There was no way she'd fall for it a second time.

Xenia laughed. "Looks like you do trust Cedric, huh? Or are you scared that if you know the truth, you'd no longer be worthy of him, so you choose to deny the truth?"

Frank stepped in and stopped her. "That's enough nonsense. Shut up!"

Then, he dragged her out of the police station without giving her the chance to say another word.

But Noelle followed. "Stop right there. Explain yourself, Xenia. What do you mean the Greenes were also involved back then? Wasn't it the Merlocks who orchestrated everything?"

Ruth had tried to sabotage her parents' bid for the clean energy project, so she resorted to despicable tactics to stop them from attending the bid.

Xenia sneered. "Yeah, but don't forget that Mrs. Merlock and Mrs. Greene are best friends. That project had the Greene family's investment, so do you think the Greenes had nothing to do with it?"

Noelle coldly snapped, "Even if the Greene family invested in the project, that doesn't mean they were involved in the crime."

The Greene family was nothing like the Merlock family. They weren't so desperate for money, and there was no reason for them to stoop that low.

"But did you know that Cedric was in the car?" Xenia blurted out.

The Liddells had never heard any of this. They'd only known that there had been someone in the back seat and assumed it was connected to the Merlocks, but there hadn't been any clues about it.

If the person in the back seat wasn't from the Merlock family but Cedric, everything would make sense. That was why they'd never found anything; they'd been searching in the wrong direction.

Xenia smiled proudly. "I just found out last night. Cedric took me along to meet the Merlocks. Bet none of you saw that coming, huh?"

Frank was stunned. "Didn't he take you to Noelle?"

Xenia gave a cold laugh. "No, but he did repeatedly tell me not to say a word about it."

She looked at Noelle with a gloating expression and felt immensely pleased.
