Emma coughed several times before speaking. "Ms. Liddell, please get in and talk with me for a moment. It won't take much of your time."

Noelle hesitated but ultimately couldn't bring herself to refuse. Before learning about the Greenes' involvement in the accident, she had thought well of them, and Emma had been kind to her.

Once inside the car, Noelle immediately noticed the smell of medication. The driver and butler had stepped out, leaving just the two of them alone. She asked, "What's the matter?"

"I wanted to tell you that you're still that kind-hearted child. You knew what I wanted to talk about, yet you agreed to meet me anyway. You softened just because you saw I was sick," Emma said.

Noelle's expression became uncomfortable. "Sweet talk won't help."

"I know, but I'm not here to ask for mercy. I want to explain what really happened back then. The answers you've pieced together might not be complete."

"But what you tell me might not be the whole truth either," Noelle replied as she looked up at the sickly woman before her. At this point, everyone would naturally share information that favored their side of the story.

Emma smiled faintly. "True, but hear me out anyway. With this information, you'll better understand the whole situation."
