“What do you want?”

He leaned in, just enough to make my skin crawl. “You’re going back to the ring with me later tonight.”

I shook my head. “No,” I replied. “Why would you need me there?”

His hand grazed my wrist, looking at me like I was a child. “So that you’re reminded that you’re mine,” he whispered. “Completely and utterly. And you can’t escape, Ava.”

And before I could respond, he was gone.

Night fell, and I sat in my room with my phone in my hand for an hour.

I could still say no, I could delete his number, I could throw the phone into the goddamn wall and scream. But none of that would erase what he had on me.

If I don’t do what he says, he’ll expose me. He’ll show Dad the video.

I slipped out of the house in silence, my hoodie over my head as my heart pounded non stop.

I told myself I was going just to buy time. Just to figure out my next move and how to survive now that he was back.

But the second I stepped into the shadows by the gate, Liam's voice came slicing through the silent air.

“Ava.”

I turned, startled and then I saw him walking towards me. His steps were filled with anger and purpose and I had to swallow the bile that had risen to my throat. Why does he show up at the wrongest time? God, please.

Kye on the other hand was already waiting under the street lamp, back against his car, watching.

Liam stepped in front of me. “You’re not going anywhere with him.”

“I wasn’t—“

He ignored me and turned to Kye. “Kye, if you don’t leave now, I’ll have you arrested for trespassing.”

Kye’s eyes narrowed at him, lazy and dark. “Is that what she wants?”

I froze. Shit.

Kye turned to look at me. “Are you sure that you want me to leave, baby?”

His voice was soft now, mocking.

I opened my mouth, but no words came out of them.

Liam didn’t wait for my answer, he waved security over and two guards came down the drive.
