She narrowed her eyes. “What are you talking about?”

I walked to the far corner of the study and opened the drawer of my desk. Inside, a box. Old. Locked. And untouched for years.

Until now.

I opened it slowly and pulled out an old photograph. A young woman, beautiful, soft-eyed, with that same raven- black hair and fire in her gaze.

Lysandra looked over my shoulder. “Who is that?”

I smiled coldly. “Her name was Marissa.”

Lysandra frowned.

“My Marissa,” I added. “Before your mother. Before this empire. Before the lies. Before all these games were played and before all of this seemed to appear in front of me.”

She stared at the picture. “You… loved her?”

“Deeply,” I murmured. “She was mine. Until she chose another man. A good man. A noble one. She left me. Took what was mine… and married him. That you of them managed to start a family. They had a daughter. She chose to forget her past. She chose to ignore it and pretend that it did not exist.”

“And you let her?” Lysandra’s voice was laced with disbelief.

“I didn’t have a choice,” I replied darkly. “She was carrying my child. And her precious Omega husband never knew the baby wasn’t his.”

Lysandra’s face twisted with disgust. “So you had a child with her? I am supposed to have a sibling? Is that what you are trying to explain?”

“A daughter,” I said, my voice dropping into a whisper. “One I kept secret. One I found years later. One I raised, away from Marissa and her beloved mate. One I taught to be sharper than any wolf I’ve known. It is a shame that her mother had died before finding out that her daughter was alive. Had she not burned in that building to save Damon as an infant, she would have been alive. Maybe she would have found her child.”

Lysandra stared, horrified.

“You’re going to use her?”

“I’m going to unleash her,” I corrected. “And she’s going to tear Sienna apart. Piece by piece. From the inside out.”

A dark silence settled in the room.

And then Lysandra asked, her voice shaky now, “Does she know who Sienna is?”

“She knows everything,” I whispered. “She’s been waiting for this moment her entire life. The moment where she claims everything that she believes she’s been stripped from. The moment where she rips that pack inside and out and claims everything to belong to her by my side…”
