Chapter 265
Nigel’s legs trembled uncontrollably with fear.
“Alpha Ferris, please don’t be angry. How could I hurt my sister? I’ll have the withdraw the lawsuit immediately.”
It wasn’t until Ferris’s car drove away that Nigel breathed a sigh of relief, no longer daring to make big claims, and knowing that the free eight billion was beyond his reach.
He never expected that Ferris would actually stand up for his useless sister, when he used to dislike Aurora the most.
When Edward returned and saw his injured son, he was furious.
“How could she be so ruthless?”
“It wasn’t her, it was a bodyguard by her side,” Nigel answered.
Edward wanted to say more, but Nigel told him that Ferris had intervened in this matter and they had to withdraw the lawsuit.
Edward fell silent after hearing this.
“I never thought Ferris still had some feelings for her.”
On my way back, I received a call from lawyer Leo saying that Edward and the others had withdrawn their lawsuit.
I was completely relieved.
I’d been feeling nauseous from time to time due to pregnancy lately, so I wanted to go out for a walk, stepping on the accumulated snow with cold wind brushing my face.
I don’t know how long I walked when suddenly my gaze froze.
In the distance, Edward in an expensive coat was walking toward me.
My pupils contracted sharply as memories of Edward forcing me to marry flooded back.
I knew that Edward had come looking for me a few days ago. Seeing me living in such a shabby place then, he hadn’t wanted to acknowledge me.
But yesterday, after his son was warned by Ferris, he felt I still had some use.
“Aurora, I finally found you.” Edward came before
me, wearing leather gloves, directly grasping my hand, his eyes full of paternal love.
I knew all too well about my biological father’s changes – he only showed me kindness when he needed something from me.
I directly pulled my hand away.
“You should just call me by my name. We’ve already severed our father–daughter relationship.”
Edward’s face stiffened, his hand also withdrawing into his coat, a cold smile playing at his lips: “I am your father. It’s not something you can sever just by saying so.”
My hanging hand clenched tightly, fingertips digging deep into my palm.
“What exactly do you want here? Standing up for Nigel?”
Edward didn’t answer, looking me up and down. “You’ve become more beautiful and learned to dress up.”
The way he looked at me made me feel disgusted, as if he was calculating how much value I still had.
“I just wanted to see you and take you to live with us. About your brother’s mater, it was his fault. He struck first. I know everything.”

Chapter 265
If I didn’t understand Edward, I couldn’t see through his hypocrisy now.
A cold mockery flashed through my beautiful, deep eyes: “Who are you planning to sell me to this fime? Or do you want to use me to gain some benefit?”
Having his true purpose exposed so directly. Edward could no longer pretend Haven’t I told you not to look at me with those eyes? Just like your foolish mother?”
Looking at my eyes, he wanted nothing more than to dig them out and crush them.
I ignored his words: “Will you leave on your own, or shall I ask you to leave?”
