Summary of Chapter 722 from Cross My Tigress Face the Wrath (Stella)

Chapter 722 marks a crucial moment in Leo Kent’s Romance novel, Cross My Tigress Face the Wrath (Stella). This chapter blends tension, emotion, and plot progression to deliver a memorable reading experience — one that keeps readers eagerly turning the page.

Susanna thought about it for a moment, but in the end, she just couldn’t take it anymore. She grabbed her phone, ready to call Hull.

Before she could dial, Barnaby cut in, “You’re about to call my boss, aren’t you?”

She shot him a look. “What else would I be doing?”

She knew better than to bother Star. And honestly, it was pretty clear to her by now that Hull wasn’t exactly the type to take orders from Mr. Quinn either.

Barnaby shook his head. “You really shouldn’t call him.”

Susanna raised an eyebrow.

“He’s got a big job this afternoon,” Barnaby explained. “Chances are he’s in the middle of a shootout or something right now.”

At that, Susanna’s mouth twitched. She promptly put her phone away.

Yeah, with things like this going on, there was no way she was calling Hull. Not unless she wanted to get chewed out, or worse.

She put her phone down, threw off the blanket, got up from the sofa, and stomped upstairs.

Barnaby, predictably, started to follow her.

“I’m changing,” Susanna called over her shoulder.

“Oh.”

For once, Barnaby actually stayed out of her room. Still, he couldn’t help but wonder—what was she changing for? Was she planning to go out? That was definitely not a good idea.

Now that she was involved with Black Gate, it was only a matter of time before they came looking for her. If she tried to leave, Barnaby couldn’t guarantee he’d be able to keep her safe.

Soon enough, Susanna came back out, dressed in a comfy pair of jeans and a hoodie—clothes Hull had sent over for her after she’d had to borrow his that one time. At least the guy had some manners.

Barnaby took one look and groaned, “Susie, you’re not thinking of going out, are you? No way.”

He didn’t even have to think about it. Too many unpredictable things could happen if she left, and honestly, Barnaby had enough on his plate already. He was already annoyed he hadn’t been sent on the afternoon job. The last thing he needed was Susanna getting herself into trouble.

“Then what do you want?”

“Teach me to shoot,” she said, her voice steady.

If she couldn’t sleep, she might as well learn something useful.

After Hull had told her the truth about who she really was, she’d realized that all the stuff she’d learned growing up—none of it was going to help her anymore.

Black Gate… her mother, the future boss of Black Gate. Susanna was sure of it now: her mom was on the opposite side of Black Gate, and she was going to win.

If that was the life she’d been born into, then she’d have to step up. She’d have to be even tougher than Star—heck, even tougher than Stella.

Back when she’d first met Stella in Portis City, she’d never understood why Stella had those crazy self-defense skills, or what they were even for. But once she learned the truth about Stella’s family, it all made sense. Someone with that kind of background needed to be able to look out for herself, no matter how big her safety net was.

And now, it was Susanna’s turn. Her mom was living life on a knife’s edge, fighting enemies every day. There was no way she could always protect Susanna. If Susanna wanted to survive, she’d need to be tougher, meaner, stronger than Star ever was.

Barnaby’s eyes narrowed when he realized what she wanted. “Wait a second. Are you trying to get me in trouble?”
