Drake looked around the campus.

School life wasn't bad. It just wasn't his life.

He wouldn't play basketball like a regular student, eat in the cafeteria, or cram into a dorm with buddies to play games. His life was supposed to be gritty and full of chaos.

Debra belonged to this campus, not his world. They shouldn't even cross paths.

"Stop following me. I'm not jumping," he said.

But her cautious footsteps crept closer. He turned around. "Keep tailing me, and I'm heading to the rooftop right now."

She stopped in her tracks, and he smirked. It was easy to handle a naïve girl like that.

"Remember, my name's Drake Lowe. Don't get it wrong," he called over his shoulder, waving lazily.

Debra watched him wander off, muttering, "Weirdo."

He knew her name, got close for no reason, messed with her, and intended to jump off the building. Now he said he wouldn't jump.

He was a strange guy, but he wasn't really a pain in the ass.
