Oliver hung up the phone. His expression was gentle just a moment ago, but in an instant it turned icy. "George, I need you to hold down the fort while I'm away. If anything critical comes up, shoot me a message and I'll respond ASAP."

George nodded, "Mr. Oliver, I've already delegated your tasks. I've cleared the decks of any emergencies before your departure. Rest assured, the company will run smoothly in your absence."

Oliver stood up, slipping into his sleek black blazer as he made for the exit. George followed behind him, while Asher was accompanied by four bodyguards, also trailing Oliver. The four of them exuded a strong presence, with sharp gazes, ready to protect Oliver's safety at any moment.

George opened the car door for Oliver, who slid in with grace. As the car pulled away, George turned back to the office to keep the wheels turning.

After wrapping up her work, Josefina called Kale to her office.

"Kale, I'll be out for five days, hopefully back sooner. I've emailed you the list of partners, stick to the game plan I've laid out. You're in charge while I'm gone. If anything pops up, ping me."

Kale gave a firm nod, "Ms. Josefina, are you off to search for Ms. Livia?"

Josefina nodded, "She hasn't returned yet, and I can't keep waiting. Plus, it's been ages since I've visited my mentor – it's time to drop by."

"Don't worry, Ms. Josefina, I'll take good care of the company and lighten your load until you return."

Josefina smiled and stood up, handing Kale a set of keys. "A gift for you."

Kale recognized his name on the keychain instantly.

"This is an early birthday present, Kale. I won't be here for your actual birthday, so please take it."

The news of Josefina's business trip sent shockwaves through Hattie and Garrett. Dorian was still at the office, and Lena hadn't yet arrived home.

"Honey, it’s so sudden. Can't you send someone else? If there's no one suitable here, your dad could dispatch someone from the headquarters," Hattie fretted.

"Josie, traveling for work can be grueling. Let me assign someone else," Garrett offered.

"And five days is a long time. It's going to be tough," Hattie added.

With a smile, Josefina replied, "This trip is personal. I need to handle it myself. I have a mentor who lives far away, and part of this trip is to see him. I should be back in about five days."

"Why not take us with you?" Hattie suggested. "We'd like to express our gratitude to your mentor. They've been there for you over the years, and as your parents, we owe them our thanks."
