Josie knew all too well about her mentor's fiery temper, but also the depth of his affection for her. "I know I'm your favorite. See you tomorrow."

"Rosa, be safe on your journey. I've arranged for someone to pick you up. When you arrive, just hop on his boat to come back."

"Got it." Josie ended the call with a beaming smile.

Slipping on her backpack, she stepped out the door.

On the ground floor, she was startled by an array of items on the table.

"Josie, I made you some sandwiches for the road. And I've fried up some snacks, they're fresh out of the fryer, perfect for munching in the car."

"Sweetheart, I washed some fruit for you and tried making some cute little shapes. It's my first go at it, so it's not perfect, but it won't affect the taste, so don't you worry."

The table was covered with various fruits and more than a dozen sandwiches, leaving Josie speechless. "This is way too much. I can't possibly finish it all."

Josie had no intention of lugging all this stuff around. Traveling light was her style. "Mom, Dad, you can't bring too much on a plane, and the fruit will go bad if I can't eat it all. I'll just have some when I get back."

She packed a few pieces of fruit and a couple of sandwiches into a big tote bag.

"Josie, take care," Hattie instructed. "Tori and the others are going with you, they'll keep an eye out for you on the road."

"Will do."

Josie hugged Hattie, then shared a gentle embrace with Garrett before she left. She didn't bring Tori and Jett with her, instead leaving them behind to keep tabs on Lena and the Antonio family's every move.

She boarded the plane alone.

At the airport, the plane touched down and Josie, wearing a hat, moved briskly forward. She turned right as Oliver came from the left.

Oliver suddenly stopped, putting Asher instantly on alert.

"Josie?" Oliver frowned in confusion.

Pulling out his phone, he tried calling Josie but got hung up on. She texted back: In a meeting, will talk later.

A meeting?

Oliver replied with an 'okay', immediately got into his car, and instructed the driver to follow the vehicle ahead. Once the seed of doubt was planted in Oliver's mind, he was compelled to act, to seek out the truth of the situation.

Meanwhile, Josie, chatting with Bert, glanced out the window and fell silent.

"The car behind has been following us for a while," noted the driver.

Bert chuckled. "Shake them off. I want to see who's got the nerve to tail us."
