Oliver glanced at his phone, inundated with messages, and chose to ignore them all.

Looking up, he continued his conversation with Hayden, "Hayden, since you can grow Lucifer's Breath on your island too, let's proceed with the plan we discussed earlier, okay?"

This herb was unique. Some plants bore seeds, others did not. The seedlings Oliver provided were all seedless, so there was no concern about anyone hijacking the business.

Josefina, overhearing the conversation, was impressed. The island chief was making big moves, and she respected that.

Oliver watched them go, and Asher slid to a stop in front of him. "I'm to blame. I got hit with that woman's powder and she got away."

"Order a full island search. And check if there are any women who came for the auction that haven't been accounted for."

"The order's been given for a tight search. I'll have them look for any strangers on the island as well," Asher said and immediately went to investigate.

Oliver retreated to his room, shedding his disguise, looking for a suitable place to video call Josefina. And then, she hung up on him.

Oliver had a bad feeling. He had only been gone a day; why was his Josie not answering his video calls? Was work too busy?

Oliver felt restless, wanting to return immediately. Not giving up, he tried another video call, which was also declined.
