Multicolored flowers bloomed across the sky, burning bright before fading like falling stars - hauntingly beautiful.

She had never seen fireworks like these before. They were breathtaking, so bright they outshone the stars in the night sky.

She exhaled deeply, as if releasing her burdens. "They're beautiful."

Zachary moved closer to Sarah. "I don't know what Vivian told you, but I need to make this clear - we're just friends. Nothing more, no other feelings involved."

He paused before adding, “But you should stay away from her."

Sarah frowned. "Why?"

"She's not who you think she is. She's different from Lucy or Charlotte."

Sarah thought for a moment. "Are you saying she might hurt me?"

She suddenly remembered Linda's words about the woman with the blue diamond ring and the mole behind her ear. It must have been Vivian. She was dangerous.

Zachary lowered his eyes and said softly, "Sarah, I'm worried about you."

Sarah took a deep breath, looking at Zachary in disbelief. "So all this time, you were trying to protect me from her?"

Zachary pressed his lips together in silence, but his answer was clear.

"Zachary, you're so arrogant. You were afraid she'd hurt me, so you hurt me instead?" Sarah's voice cracked, her eyes reddening.

Zachary shook his head, uncertainty flashing in his dark eyes. "It's not like that. I couldn't risk your safety."

Sarah let out a bitter laugh. "So you couldn't risk my safety? Then why come looking for me now that we're apart and I'm supposedly better protected?"

Zachary was speechless. He'd initially stayed away to protect her, but when she really left, he couldn't help trying to get close again.

A hand caught her wrist, pulling her backward.

Zachary held her tightly against him, one hand cradling her neck. Seeing the panic in her eyes, he leaned down and kissed her.

Sarah tried to push him away, struggling against his grip, but couldn't break free.

"Mmph... let go..." His lips were warm against hers, and gradually she stopped resisting, closing her eyes.

When Zachary finally pulled away, Sarah was still dazed. She wiped her lips, saying angrily, "What are you doing?"

Zachary licked his lips, as if savoring the moment. "Sarah, you still love me."

Sarah's face flushed red. What a gentleman turned rogue! "You jerk!" She shoved him away and fled to the car.

Mia watched her awkwardly, quickly tugging at Sarah's sleeve to smooth things over. "Sarah, weren't the fireworks beautiful?"
