James's mother quickly shook her head, "She's not home. Please leave."

"Mrs. Chancer, we've already checked the security cameras along all routes. Miss Garnett and Mr. Chancer came straight home from the auction. Please cooperate with our investigation."

"Why are you looking for her?"

"She's suspected of conspiracy to commit a crime. We need to take her in for questioning," the officer said sternly.

Mrs. Chancer replied calmly, "That's impossible. She’s innocent. Someone must be framing her."

"Mrs. Chancer, we wouldn't be here without evidence and an arrest warrant. Please cooperate."

Before Mrs. Chancer could make more excuses, James opened the basement entrance. "Charlotte is down here."

The officers exchanged glances before rushing down to make the arrest.

When Charlotte was brought out, she looked terrible, her shoulders trembling. She tried to grab onto James, "James, save me!"

But James watched coldly throughout. "Tell them everything you know."

Realizing James wouldn't help her, Charlotte turned desperately to his mother, "Mom, please help me."

Mrs. Chanccer rushed forward anxiously, telling the officers, "Be careful, she's pregnant. If anything happens to her, you'll be responsible!"

Just as they reached the door, Charlotte suddenly stopped. "My stomach - it hurts so much!"

James's brow furrowed as he quickly pushed others aside to hold Charlotte. "What's wrong?"

"James, help me, my stomach hurts," Charlotte's face was deathly pale, looking like she might faint at any moment.

The officers looked at each other uncertainly. "Take her to the hospital."

Yesterday's memories still fresh in his mind, he quickly looked away and set down the menu. "Miss Sanders, please order directly." He placed the tablet in front of Sarah.

Sarah sensed something unusual between the two. After casually ordering a few dishes, she handed the tablet back to him. "Besides what I've ordered, please add whatever dishes you recommend."

Steven practically fled the scene, while Scarlett watched his retreating figure with a hurt expression.

“Scarlett, did something happen between you two?" Sarah asked.
