Sarah wasn't making threats - Mr. Luther really had collapsed when Summit Corp broke their contract a month ago, spending two full days in emergency care.

Hearing this, Michael jumped up, his eyes reddening. "What happened to my father?"

"Mr. Luther, please calm down. The Summit Corp situation hit your father hard - he collapsed."

"Summit... was it the Wilsons?" Michael asked quietly.

Sarah nodded. It wasn't a secret - everyone with any influence on the East Coast knew.

"Do you have proof?" Michael still seemed doubtful.

Sarah's eyes turned cold. "Mr. Luther, anyone could tell you your father's still in the hospital. Why would I lie about this?"

She walked toward the door, leaving him with one last thought. "Think it over, Mr. Luther. Vivian isn't as simple as you imagine. Everyone knows she loves Zachary. If not for yourself, think about your father and the company.”

She strode out, leaving Michael to be escorted back by guards, his face ashen.

"Mom, what exactly happened to Dad? And the company?" Michael was still serving his sentence; his mother couldn't stay long.

She wiped her tears and spoke quickly. "After you went to prison, Reynolds and Sanders backed off. The company was slowly improving. Your father finally found a connection with Summit Corp, worked himself to the bone for days for this deal. It could have been our turning point. But the day before signing, Summit called to say their chairman changed his mind. The next day, we saw them signing with Wilson Industries instead."

Michael took a deep breath. "Why wasn't I told about something this big?"

"You're serving time in prison," his mother said worriedly. "You can barely help yourself - telling you would only make you worry. But... who told you about this?"
