"Zachary?" she whispered softly.

She sat beside his bed - these stolen moments were the only times she could really look at him.

She reached out and gently touched his nose.

"What do you think you're doing?"

Sarah jumped, yanking her hand back. Of all people, it had to be her.

It was uncanny how this woman always seemed to find Zachary, especially whenever Sarah was around.

Vivian dismissed this, glaring at Sarah. "You still haven't given up on him? Sarah, let me be clear - Zachary has agreed to get engaged to me. Stop bothering him."

"Was Professor Letito and Amy's incident your doing?" Sarah's eyes were probing.

Vivian stepped closer, letting out a mocking laugh. "You can't be naive enough to actually ask me that? Sarah, don't try pinning your school drama on me. You know what kind of person you are. I'm just advising you to stay away from Zachary. It's better for both of us."

Though she hadn't admitted it, Sarah knew that besides those already in prison, Vivian was the only person who hated her this much.

"Vivian, nobody can act without leaving traces." She tried to pull her hand free from Zachary's grip, but couldn't.

Vivian leaned in and forcefully pried Zachary's hand loose, looking at Sarah with contempt. "Don't think you can make Zachary fall for you by hanging around him. Sarah, we grew up together - you can't compete with that."

"I've never tried to compete with you. He knows who he loves."
