Thomas could hardly believe his eyes.

Wasn’t Mr. Harrison Lancaster notorious for his impatience with women’s unreasonable demands? Yet, this woman had just made a completely absurd request, and instead of getting angry, he was actually indulging her?

“Cut it,” Anastasia said lazily, nestled comfortably in Harrison’s arms. She tilted her delicate chin, her tone light and unhurried.

She saw right through whatever Thomas was thinking, a wicked, triumphant smirk curling her lips.

—That’s right. Mr. Harrison Lancaster spoils me. He never gets mad at me. What are you going to do about it? Bite me?

Thomas nearly exploded at her infuriating expression.

He drew in a deep breath, barely managing to tamp down his irritation. Fighting the urge to snap at her, he went ahead and cut open her bandage.

When he saw the wound—which, truth be told, looked like it might have healed in another day or two—he fell silent.

—This was the so-called “serious injury” Mr. Harrison Lancaster had specially called him over to examine?

“Thomas?” Harrison’s tone was sharp as he frowned, clearly displeased by Thomas’s hesitation.

Thomas forced a smile. “I’ll take care of Lady Lancaster right away!”

Anastasia watched Thomas’s handsome face twist with frustration, and her mood soared. She felt like she could eat an extra helping at dinner, just from the satisfaction.

That afternoon, Anastasia still had classes. After lunch, she and Harrison shared a blissful nap, then she left for campus in high spirits.

Tomorrow was the weekend, which meant heading home to Rosewood Manor. As luxurious as this temporary apartment was, nothing really compared to the comfort of home.
