“Anastasia, was that big shot the one who just dropped you off?!”

“Yeah, yeah, was it him? I saw the photos on the forum—no one ordinary could afford that car! It’s gotta be the big boss, right?!”

Surrounded by a crowd of giddy classmates, all eager for gossip, Anastasia just smiled and dodged the question. “Class is about to start.”

“I’m not leaving today! I’m totally crashing your class!”

“And Anastasia, what’s going on between you and the big boss, anyway? That day when you got hurt, he looked so worried about you…”

The entire morning was a blur; Anastasia barely heard a word the professors said. She spent two periods trapped by nosy questions and curious stares.

It was exhausting. Anticipating that the crowd would only get worse after class, she slipped out early, not waiting for the bell.

Harrison had promised to pick her up, but since she’d ducked out ahead of schedule, she texted him not to bother and made her way back to the apartment alone.

Just as she reached the building, she nearly bumped into Thomas coming out.

Thomas’s eyes were red, his usually handsome face tense and drawn; whatever had happened inside clearly left its mark.

The moment he saw her, his expression turned icy, openly hostile.

“So you finally managed to get Alice kicked out. Happy now?!”

He practically spat the accusation at her.

Anastasia raised a brow, unfazed. “Alice brought this on herself. What does that have to do with me?”

“Don’t try to deny it! Don’t you think I know what Alice is like? She’s so sweet and innocent, no hidden agenda at all! If you hadn’t deliberately set her up, there’s no way she would’ve been thrown out!”
