Barry, seeing his wife’s foolish outburst, hurried over and gave her arm a sharp tug, his face dark with anger.

How could they both be so thoughtless? Did it never occur to them what serious consequences might follow if they provoked Mr. Lancaster?

Debby opened her mouth to protest again, but the look in her husband’s eyes made her falter. Forcing herself to stay quiet, she glanced at her son shivering in the pool. Eyes red, she looked away, unable to bear the sight, her heart filling with bitter hatred for Anastasia.

Anastasia caught the venom in Debby’s glare and let out a cold, inward laugh.

She remembered Debby all too well.

In her previous life, Debby had always looked down on her—never thinking she was good enough for Aaron—yet she’d had no problem accepting every benefit Anastasia offered.
