Chapter 741
Britney looked up in surprise. She opened her mouth to say something but hesitated. Seeing the determination on Gavin’s handsome late she knew her refusal wouldn’t work.
Gavin began to gather his documents and put them into his briefcase. He lifted his gaze at Britney and asked, “Do you like the red roses cent
you?”
Britney bit her lip.
Gavin zipped up his briefcase and stood up. “If you don’t like them, I’ll bring you different flowers tomorrow.”
Britney really didn’t know what to say for a moment.

Gavin picked up his briefcase and started walking out. Britney quickly followed after him. Suddenly, Gavin came to a halt.
Britney bumped right into his broad back and couldn’t help but let out a soft cry.
Gavin turned around and saw Britney rubbing her slightly red nose. He lifted his hand, then let it fall.
“Are you free tonight? I know a great little private kitchen. I’d love to take you there,” he said.
Before Britney could answer, Gavin added, “You can turn me down if you want.”
“Tonight, I-” Britney stammered.
“But honestly, I hope you won’t,” Gavin said, cutting her off.
When Britney met Gavin’s deep eyes, the words of refusal that had reached her lips were swallowed back down.

She hedged, “I’m not sure if I’ll have to work overtime today. There’s a big tour group checking in, and if the front desk gets overwhelmed, I might have to help out.”
Gavin nodded. “Alright, I’ll come pick you up tonight.”
‘Didn’t I just say I might have to work late?‘ she grumbled inwardly. ‘Why does he act like I’ve already agreed?‘
But before Britney could protest, Gavin was already striding off with his briefcase.
Britney let out a sigh. She really did have her hands full today.
With a big tour group checking in, there was a mountain of work waiting for her.
But by mid–afternoon, she got word from the sales department that the tour group wasn’t coming after all.
Britney found it odd. Groups that booked this far in advance almost never cancelled. On the bright side, at least she could get off work on
time.
As soon as she stepped out of the employee entrance, she spotted the Rolls–Royce parked at the intersection.
That was when Britney remembered that Gavin had said he wanted to have dinner with her this morning.
She was off work now. There really wasn’t any reason to turn him down. Honestly, Britney had to admit that she didn’t really want to refuse
him.

Chapter 741
Even though she hadn’t met Gavin that many times, she actually thought pretty well of him.
Britney grabbed her bag and walked over to the car. The driver had already hopped out and was holding the back door open for her.
“Ms. Watson, please get in. Mr. Yates has been waiting for you,” the driver said.
“Thank you,” Britney replied as she slid into the back seat.
The door closed behind her. The partition between the front and back seats rose up. Now the back seat was completely sealed off from the front, leaving her in a private, enclosed space.
The man beside her didn’t say a word, but his presence was impossible to ignore.
Britney turned her head just a little and caught sight of him in his tailored suit, his profile unfairly handsome, exuding the air of a successful urban professional.
Britney clutched her handbag a little tighter, feeling a bit self–conscious.
The silence between them was so thick you could cut it with a knife.
