Chapter 742

For a few seconds, Britney’s face was frozen in shock. Then she blurted out, “You’re disrupting the market.”

Gavin let out a soft, amused laugh.

Britney frowned at him. “What’s so funny?”

Gavin turned to look at her, his gaze lingering on her delicate face. In a low voice, he said, “I thought you’d be touched.”

Britney was speechless. ‘Touched?‘ Britney thought. ‘All I feel is shock. Just pure shock. That tour group needs over a hundred rooms. And he’s letting them all stay for free? Does he think money grows on trees or something?‘

Upon seeing the surprise still written all over her face, Gavin, almost without thinking, lifted his hand and gently stroked the top of her head. “Alright, just this once. Don’t expect it again.”

He sounded just like he was coaxing a child. Gavin quickly moved his hand away.

But to Britney, it felt as if the warmth of his palm still lingered on the top of her head. For some reason, her cheeks started to feel warm.

Britney turned away, gazing out the car window. The setting sun bathed everything in a rosy glow, while cars streamed by outside. The backseat had plenty of space.

With just the two of them in the back, it felt especially roomy.

As Britney stared out the window, she suddenly felt his knee brush against hers.

She was wearing a long, pale yellow dress paired with sheer stockings.

The instant Gavin’s suit–clad knee touched hers; it was like a jolt of electricity shot up her leg. Britney immediately pulled her knee away and turned to look at him.

Gavin, however, was still gazing out the window, as if nothing had happened. It was just an unintentional touch on his part.

‘Guess I was just imagining things,‘ Britney told herself. She edged a little closer to the window. The rest of the ride passed in silence.

Half an hour later, the car pulled into the parking lot of an exclusive private kitchen restaurant. Gavin stepped out first, with Britney following close behind.

Wesley had reserved a table by the window. As soon as they walked in, they spotted two familiar figures.

“Cam?” Gavin called out. He was a bit surprised to run into Cameron and Bradley here. It was obvious the two of them were out on a date.

What a coincidence. They’d actually picked the same restaurant.

“Gavin?” Cameron blurted out, just as surprised.

Bradley looked over at Britney, who was standing behind Gavin, and pushed up his gold–rimmed glasses. “Gavin, you and your girl are here for dinner too?”

“Yeah.” Gavin nodded, “You two go ahead.”

Britney gave a slight nod to Bradley and Cameron, then followed Gavin to their own table.

Cameron smiled as she watched Britney from across the room. “It’s just as I expected.”

Bradley couldn’t help but laugh. “Guess Gavin won’t have to get lectured anymore.”

Cameron slowly popped a shrimp into her mouth. “Not so fast.”

“What do you mean?” Bradley asked.

Cameron replied, “Now that Gavin’s got a girlfriend, the next thing my parents will do is start bugging him about having kids: It’s not easy being the eldest son.”

Bradley’s lips curved into a slight smile. “I’m not in a rush.”

“What?” Cameron looked confused.

Bradley said, “I’m not in a hurry to have kids.”

Cameron was speechless.

Bradley chuckled, “But if you want kids, Cam, I’m all for it.”
