Chapter 994

“Alright.”

With that, Shaun grabbed the car keys and left. After he was gone, Halsey stepped out of the study, planning to head back to her room.

But just then, Chelsea’s voice rang out.

“Hello, Ms. Mallin.”

Halsey froze and turned her head, glancing downstairs. Two familiar faces came into view-Chelsea and Warren.

“How did you get in here?” Halsey asked.

Warren replied, “I used my fingerprint to get in.”

In that moment, Halsey immediately understood Chelsea’s game. She hadn’t expected Chelsea to actually use Warren like this.

“Warren,” she said sharply, “you called Shaun to get him out of the house, and then you brought Chelsea in? If he finds out, he’s going to cut all ties with you!”

Warren hesitated, but Chelsea quickly snapped at Halsey, “Stop trying to mess with his head! Warren and I are doing this for Shaun’s good. We can’t let him destroy himself because of you!”

Halsey let out a cold laugh. “No. You working with Gilbert is what’s going to ruin Shaun.”

Warren stiffened. “What did you just say? Who is she working with?”

“Do you seriously not know?” Halsey asked him. “She’s teamed up with Gilbert.”

“No way! Gilbert is Shaun’s enemy. There’s no way she’d work with him!” Warren said in disbelief. He turned to Chelsea. ” What’s going on? Is this true?”

“How could you believe her? She’s just trying to drive a wedge between us!” Chelsea said firmly.

Warren believed her and immediately nodded. He turned to Halsey.

“That’s enough! Twisting people’s words is what you do best, but I’m not Shaun-I won’t fall for your tricks.”

Halsey went silent. At that point, she felt like Warren was beyond help.

Chelsea replied smoothly, “Chill out. There’s still someone else joining us tonight.”

She clapped-moments later, someone walked in.

Gilbert.

He looked at Halsey and smiled. “Hey, we meet again.”

Halsey didn’t look surprised. She had expected him to show up.

Tonight, Chelsea and Gilbert had used Warren once again to sneak their way into the house.

“You again,” Halsey said coldly. “Why do you keep bothering me? You know I don’t feel anything for you.”

Gilbert walked straight toward her, getting closer and closer.

“You’re in my hands now. Are you sure you wanna keep saying things that’ll just piss me off?”
