Gilbert’s expression darkened. He truly loved Halsey, but the way she was acting made him hate her just as much. 

If he couldn’t have her, then he’d rather destroy her himself than let Shaun have her! 

“If you won’t willingly come with me,” he snarled at Halsey, “I’ll make you! Guys, take her away!” 

With a wave of his hand, two bodyguards in black immediately stepped forward and grabbed Halsey, trying to drag her away. 

“You’re breaking the law!” Halsey shouted. 

But Gilbert simply sneered, “Don’t worry. I’ll make sure no one finds out. You’ll leave this world quietly.” 

Chelsea laughed and snapped at the men, “What are you waiting for? Take her away already!” 

The bodyguards dragged Halsey out. 

Chelsea turned to Gilbert. “If you can’t have her, destroy her. Don’t ever let Halsey control your life again.” 

“I know!” Gilbert said coldly. “Just make sure Shaun doesn’t suspect anything for now.” 

“I will. Don’t worry.” 

After that, Gilbert left. 

Chelsea was overjoyed. She sat down on the couch, looking around the villa with a satisfied smile. 

Halsey-her greatest rival-was finally going to disappear! 

She had stayed by Shaun’s side for so long just for this day, to become Mrs. Lane. 

“You keep bringing up the things Halsey did to hurt me, but you never mention all the good she’s done! Back when I was still Dwight, when I had nothing, she was the one who treated me well. Have you forgotten those dark years? Halsey helped my mother pass away peacefully. She raised Maddy while I was missing for three years. Without her, I wouldn’t be who I am today.” 

Warren fell silent. 

The truth was, he had genuinely liked Halsey once. He had just forgotten that somewhere along the way. 

“Halsey is a wealthy heiress,” Shaun continued. “Back when I was just some naive, clueless kid, she came into my life and chose to love me. No matter what she’s done over the years, I’ve never stopped loving her. Honestly, I don’t think I could live without her. And now, she’s carrying my child. They are everything to me.” 

Warren didn’t know how to respond. 

“You’re my best friend, and I know you’ve only ever wanted what’s best for me,” Shaun added. “That’s why I’ve never blamed you for what you did before. But please, don’t hurt Halsey. She and the baby are my bottom line. If anything happens to them, whatever bond we had ends right there.” 

Today, Shaun had truly laid his heart on the table. 

Warren could tell that he meant every word.
