“We were rescued in time, but the ring was nowhere to be found.

“Mr. Eric was still conscious and told me to contact the authorities and begin a search.

“The police treated it as a robbery and attempted murder.”

Alice frowned hard.

She instinctively reached up and pressed her temples.

“But since everyone was focused on Mr. Eric’s injury, the missing ring was kept quiet.

“And since the case turned criminal, the officers told us not to reveal any leads–so barely anyone knew.”

Alice remembered the expressions from the estate that day.

When Yvette pulled out the ring, everyone looked stunned.
