Clayton jumped right in to help move equipment, reading the room perfectly.

Off to the side, Daniel was practically stomping in frustration.

“Mr. Eric, this is bad.”

Meanwhile, Eric was still stuck at the office, cleaning up the mess left by the morning’s drama.

Irene’s sudden appearance had caused quite a stir.

Her presence alone had stirred up all the employees still loyal to her.

And after she left, along with Alice, rumors exploded in the company group chat.

Supposedly, Irene had come to “set Alice straight,” but Alice had “refused to listen.”

No one dared to speak outright disrespectfully, but the implication was clear. Alice didn’t show enough respect to her elders.

Irene, no matter how tough she’d been, was over 70 now.

Even if she said something out of line, she deserved some respect.
