She rolled up her sleeves, her eyes flashing. “Don’t hold me back. I swear, I’m about to go over there and rip that woman’s mouth right off her face!”

Danielle gently tugged at Kirsten’s arm and looked up at Millie, her tone calm and unhurried. “Waiting for Alexander?”

Millie lifted her chin a touch, full of haughty pride. “So what if I am? Are you waiting too?”

Danielle’s lips curled slowly into a faint smile. “No. I just thought you should know—he already left through the back. No point in waiting anymore.”

For a split second, Millie’s facade crumbled, her eyes darkening in shock.

Kirsten couldn’t hold back. She burst out laughing.

“Pathetic.” She shot Millie a glance. “That man you’re so proud of? Looks like he’s done with you.”

She grabbed Danielle’s hand and led her away. “Come on, Dani, let’s not waste another second on this abandoned housewife.”

“Always strutting around like some jilted heiress, picking fights with everyone she meets.”

Gian didn’t say a word. He just looked Millie up and down, his gaze dripping with silent disdain.

He didn’t have to say anything; the contempt in his eyes said it all.

Millie watched them leave, feeling anger rise like bile in her chest.

Alex had left without even telling her.

And now she was the butt of their jokes.

She gritted her teeth, staring at her phone for a moment before finally calling Nash Langley to try and get some answers.

Nash sounded genuinely surprised. “Oh? Mr. Davidson thought Miss Fletcher had already left ages ago.”

“If there’s nothing else, I’m going to hang up now.”

“Where is Alex right now?”

Nash replied, “I’m really not sure of Mr. Davidson’s whereabouts. After the meeting, he left with his driver. He doesn’t check in with me.”

“If you want to know where he is, you’ll have to call him yourself.”

Millie clenched her jaw, her fingers digging into the phone. She didn’t do anything else, just hung up quietly.

If she could reach Alexander directly, she wouldn’t have bothered calling Nash in the first place.
