Tara gripped the watering can handle tightly and replied politely, "Good morning."

Soren looked around. "Did you plant all these flowers in the yard?"

"Yeah. I feel happy whenever I see them, so I keep planting more and more."

Tara lowered her head to inspect the flowers. Whenever she saw flowers being sold at the market, she couldn't help but buy some. There was no stopping her at all.

He looked at her and said, "I can tell you take very good care of them."

Tara didn't dare meet his eyes. She was afraid that his next sentence would be asking to come into the yard for a look.

Soren got straight to the point. "I fell in love with you at first sight, so please give me a chance to court you."

The watering can immediately dropped to the ground. Tara scrambled to pick it up and turned her back to him to hide her panic.

"I have a boyfriend."

Soren's tone softened. "You don't have a boyfriend."

"I do," Tara insisted firmly. If she said she did, then she did.

After saying that in a rush, she heard Soren laugh, which only made her more anxious. Why was he laughing?

"Tara, I've looked into you, and you don't have a boyfriend. But—"

Tara hadn't expected him to investigate her so quickly. He shouldn't have been able to find out anything about the past.

She waited a while but didn't hear anything else, so she couldn't help but ask, "But what?"

"But you can have one now," he answered in a low voice.

Tara, of course, understood what he was implying, but she quickly rejected him. "I'm not looking to be in a relationship right now."

Even though Soren was in no hurry, he also didn't give her room to say no.

"I'll keep courting you until you do."

Seeing that reasoning with him was useless and knowing full well he wasn't the type to give up easily, Tara hurried into the house with the watering can in hand and quickly shut the door, cutting off any chance for him to look or talk to her.

His memory had been wiped, yet he still fell for her at first sight. Neither Lance nor Shawn had reacted this way, but ironically, Soren did. It was no wonder that when they ran into each other a few days ago, the way he looked at her felt so much like before.

Just then, Soren called loudly from outside the yard. "Finish watering the rest of the flowers, and I'll leave."

Tara cracked the door open slightly and stiffly replied, "I-I've already finished."

Soren watched as she quietly opened the door a little and immediately shut it again after saying what she needed to say. He couldn't help but let out a soft laugh. She was honestly too adorable.

From that day on, Tara started actively avoiding him. The moment she heard any sound, she would dash back into the house.

Several days passed without another encounter with Soren.

That afternoon, Tara was in the kitchen cooking with the last of the ingredients. The fridge was nearly empty, which meant she couldn't put off grocery shopping any longer. She must go to the market tomorrow.

Suddenly, her doorbell rang.

She didn't open the door right away. Instead, she looked out the window and saw Elaine standing outside. Only then did she step out to open the gate and ask, "What is it?"

Elaine grabbed her hand. "Isn't the guest who booked the mountain-view room the male celebrity who sings really well?"

Tara nodded hesitantly. "Yup."
