He knew how close Sydney and Tiffany were. He dropped his usual careless attitude and chose his words with care. "Don't worry. This time my sister and the family won't interfere."

He assumed Sydney feared that the Hutton family might step in again and embarrass Tiffany.

Sydney frowned. "That's not what I meant. What I'm saying is this. Whether Tiff chooses to get back together with you or not, and no matter how your relationship turns out later, your resignation has nothing to do with her. Raymond, that was your decision. It has nothing to do with Tiff."

Sydney thought he only meant to escort her outside. She did not expect that after helping her into the car, he would walk around the front, open the other door, and climb into the passenger seat.

She stared at him, baffled.

Raymond spoke with perfect composure. "I happen to have something to discuss with Jules. I'll hitch a ride."
