Diana paused for only a second before looking away.

Leon hurried after her and called out, "Diana."

"Do you need something?" Diana didn;t slow down.

"I heard you were coming to the convention center, so I wanted to talk to you in person." Leon fell into step beside her, his voice low.

"There's nothing left for us to talk about." Diana walked to a relatively quiet corner before stopping and turning to face him. "We've already signed the divorce agreement. Once the waiting period is over, we'll get the certificate. Just let the process run its course."

Leon swallowed. "Diana, do we really have to be like this?"

"Like what?" Diana asked.

"Like strangers." His voice grew slightly hoarse. "Even if we're getting divorced, we grew up together. We shouldn't be at the point where we can't even have a proper conversation."

Diana frowned faintly. "What is it you want to say?"

"What I want to say is..." Leon seemed to choose his words carefully. "I didn't handle the situation with Helen well. I shouldn't have indulged her again and again and allowed you to be humiliated."

Diana said nothing. She only looked at him from the corner of her eye, her expression unchanged.

Leon pressed his lips together before continuing, "Over the past few years, I've devoted too much of my energy to work, and I've ignored your feelings more often than I should have. But I'll change from now on."

Diana listened without the slightest change in expression.

"Stop saying you'll change. I don't want to hear it, and I don't need it." With that, she turned to leave.

"Diana," Leon called after her again, a rare note of earnestness in his voice. "Give me one more chance, even if—"

A crisp male voice cut in, "Excuse me. Sorry to interrupt."

Leon turned toward the speaker, his brow furrowing before he realized it.

It was Hugo. He wore a dark gray suit. Tall and lean, he held a glass of champagne in one hand and wore a perfectly measured smile.

He spoke naturally, as though he had come to talk business with her. "Leon, I need to discuss something with Diana."

Leon looked at him, then at Diana. After a brief hesitation, he gave a small nod. "Go ahead."
