"Your grandfather was probably worried you wouldn't come if he told you the truth. But Ms. Hutton, there's no need to worry. I don't have any ulterior motives. Let's simply treat this as an opportunity to get to know each other," Callum answered with his usual straightforwardness, adjusting the gold-rimmed glasses on the bridge of his nose.

Diana's impression of him was favorable. He spoke without pressing the issue and handled the situation with ease, never making her feel uncomfortable or obligated.

The two of them ate and talked, discussing their work and their lives. It made for a relaxed and pleasant evening.

Partway through the meal, Diana excused herself and headed to the restroom.

As she stepped out of the private room, her gaze swept down the corridor and caught a figure emerging from the room next door.

The man was tall and impeccably dressed. Diana recognized his profile immediately.

It was Leon.

Without breaking stride, Diana continued toward the restroom.

When she returned a few minutes later and reached the door to her private room, she heard voices inside.

"Mr. Sandhill, since this is our first meeting, there's something you may not know. Diana is my wife." Leon's voice was warm, almost pleasant, as though he were stating nothing more than an ordinary fact.

Diana pushed the door open and walked in.

The atmosphere had already shifted.

Callum remained seated, his composure intact, though his fingers had tightened slightly around his cup. Even so, his gaze remained steady as it settled on Diana.
