Eve could lead Jacobs to Ryan. I know for a fact that she would never put Ryan in danger. But I also know that Ryan would do anything to bring her back.

"So he took Eve for like motivation?"

"Maybe, maybe not" Dr. Nale answered. "He could do two things with her. Use her to get to Alpha Ryan, or he could kill her. Since she is the last heir, he could take over the castle. Its impossible to predict what he's gonna do"

"But what about Matthew? Isn't he like the second heir?" I questioned.

Ryan shrugged. "Technically, yes. He is the second heir, but he cannot rule the castle. He's six. He hasn't even developed his wolf"

"What do we do now?" Brian asked. I answered the question for once.

"We're taking a trip to the castle. I'm gonna interrogate that rogue"

Genevieve

"I'm trying!" I shouted at the Alpha and Beta.

"Try harder" Alpha Jacobs growled.

We've been doing this for hours. I don't know what time it is, but its been at least five hours. They want me to mind-link Ryan, but Ingrid isn't responding. I can't hear her, just like last time. Whenever Asher was with the red-head, Ingrid stopped talking to me. Like she would disappear for a few hours.

"This isn't working" I stated.

"You just need a little motivation" Beta Hefner picked up the brown-haired girl and held his fist up to her face.

I got as close to the bars as I could without touching it. "Don't hurt her" I begged. "My mind-link isn't gonna work for a while. I swear that I'm trying. I just need some time"

"Why isn't it working?" Alpha Jacobs asked. "The silver cage still allows you to mind-link, you just can't shift"

"Its not the cage" I sighed. "Its my wolf. She's weak"

"Eric. Get the doctor" Alpha Jacobs demanded. Eric nodded and left.

"I don't need a doctor" I stated. "My wolf will be back in an hour or so"

"Well, I don't like waiting" Alpha Jacobs informed me. I rolled my eyes and sat on the bed. "What's wrong with the stupid mutt, anyways?" he asked.

I sighed and chose to ignore the insult. "My idiot mate kissed someone in front of me"

"And you're not dead?" he questioned bluntly.

I sure wish that I died. This just sucks. Maybe I could stop all the feelings. Stop all the pain. Every supernatural creature has the power to shut everything off. I didn't do it before, but now it seems pretty reasonable to turn them off. To turn my emotions off.

I tightly shut my eyes and flipped the switch in my brain. I felt everything lifting off my chest. I didn't care about anything anymore.

"Its Beta Hefner" he huffed.

The doctor muttered out a curse. "What?" Jacobs asked.

"She turned her emotions off" the doctor stated.

I pointed at him and touched the tip of my nose with my finger. "Ding. Ding. Ding" I started laughing to myself.

Jacobs rolled his eyes at me and turned to the doctor. "Make her turn it back on"

"I can't make her turn it back on. She can't even turn it back on" the doctor explained. "You just have to make her feel an emotion, then it turns the other ones on"

"I got this" Hefner stated and pulled the brown-haired girl up. "Is guilt an emotion?" he asked.

The doctor nodded and Hefner pushed the girl onto the cell. She screamed while her skin burned. I just watched the scene from my bed. For some reason, I didn't even feel anything. I should have felt bad for a pack member being hurt. But I didn't feel any remorse. Jacobs and the doctor both stood behind Hefner and watched.

"Eric!" the girl shrieked, Hefner gently pried her off the cell. The girl punched him in the gut and he bent over, clutching his stomach. "She obviously doesn't care. Did you have to keep burning me?" she snapped.

"Sorry, Katelyn" Hefner wheezed.

"You better be sorry. I agreed to let you smack me around, but not burn me on the fucking cell" the girl, Katelyn, replied.
