"Hi, my name is Leo Bane Alexander" LB chirped to Leo.
Leo just chuckled "Ya, I know buddy. You know my names Leo to?"
"Yupe, I know mom told me" LB excitedly told him. Leo looked up at me with surprise in his eyes, I guess he was shocked that I even thought about telling LB about him even talk about him.
LB has always had male figures in his life, but he has always wanted a dad like the other kids. Practicing Football with him, teach him how to fix cars, and girls. I'm glad I can finally give Leo what he wants and needs.
"What did mom tell you?" Leo softly asked probably worried I tainted his image.
"Mom, said you love the color blue, and black. Like fixing cars and favorite sport is Football, I love Football I played on my team in Oregon" LB paused taking a deep breath "My coach said that any team in California will be lucky to have me" He said proudly.
Leo and I laughed together causing our eyes to meet. I quickly looked away angry, after what he has done to me, he thinks with a laugh or two I will forgive him? Not a chance in hell if he wants me he has to work for it.
"Ya LB is great at sports" I say fondly running my fingers through his soft dark locks.
"Really?" Leo asked raising an eyebrow playfully.
Looking at him shy fully I nod my head "He's like you when you were younger"
Leo's eyes shot up to mine regretfully and sadly. I looked away the awkward atmosphere.
"Why weren't you with us before dad?" LB asked in a timid voice his fingers twining together a nervous habit he got from me.
Leo and I looked at each other shocked, I knew LB was curious why we weren't all together before, but I didn't think he would ask Leo out right.
Leo looked frantic and pissed, more at himself than anyone else I guess. "Ummm... look buddy. The reason I wasn't with the two of you before is because I did some not so nice things to mom long time ago" Leo told LB uncomfortably.
LB turned towards me his eyes glazed "Mom you said Dad didn't hurt you" He said hurt.
~~ The Next Morning ~~
I hummed and sang softly while I was mixing pancake batter for breakfast. Since I was trying to squeeze in enough work time to open my new restaurant this year, free time with Jack had been cut down these past few months. The plan was to make a big breakfast and spend the whole day together. LB had football later in the evening so I decided to take Leo with us, he deserved to know our son no matter how much I didn't want to. Leo is still LB's father and had already missed so much in his life.
I giggled as the song changed to Jack Johnson's "Banana Pancakes." I was, in fact, making Banana Walnut pancakes since they were her LB's favorites. The irony was not lost on me. I walked out into the hall and poked my head into the living room where my little boy sat watching cartoons.
"Hey, baby, wanna help me mush some 'nanas for your special pancakes?" I asked him, LB loved to help me out in the kitchen.
"Sure!" he called as he shot up from his seat on the couch and rushed to her side. He grabbed her hand and started to tug her into the kitchen.
"C'mon! Let's go! I'm starving!"
I shook her head and laughed at his eagerness, letting him pull me into the kitchen. I sat LB on the counter and handed him a bowl with a couple of ripe, peeled bananas and a wooden spoon for him to mash them with. I went back to the batter, adding in some chopped walnuts and then the mashed bananas. I grinned when she noticed LB nodding his head to the Madonna song that was now playing. His golden brown locks swayed across his forehead.
