I set the bowl of pancake batter down on the counter and spun around to pick up LB, just as the song's chorus came on.

Singing, I danced around the kitchen while he laughed and squealed. Making a turn just a little too fast, then ended up sprawled on the floor, still giggling.

"I love you, Mom," he sighed happily.

"I love you to my little bean" I murmured to him.

"Mom why do you call me little bean?" he questioned.

I chuckled a little "Well, see when you were little and were in my tummy, your uncle's Cam and Cane thought you looked like a little bean" I answered.

"I don't look like a bean!" he pouted "and I'm not little! I'm a big boy"

I nodded my head barely suppressing the laugh that wanted to bubble out of me. "I now you're not" I soothed "You know your uncles can be dumb dumbs sometimes"

He nodded his head sagely "Ya I know, uncle Ryder says that his mommy dropped them on their heads when they's were smaller"

I laughed "True, but don't tell your uncles that okay? It'll make them sad" I said. LB nodded his head knowing that his uncles could be 'sensitive' sometimes.

I smiled softly as I plated up breakfast. "Here you go, Baby" I smiled stacking two pancakes onto his plate, setting a bottle of maple syrup, berry's, and whipped cream in the middle of the table. "We have your football thing at 4. I'll ask if your father wants to come" I whisper the last part.

LB's head shot up, eyes meeting mine "Really" he asked excited.

"Really" I say in a forced smile and laugh. Am I really gonna do this rang through my head. I looked at the LB smiled, how his face glowed at the fact that his father was going to watch him play football, was something I knew I couldn't give him myself. In that moment I knew that I was really doing the right thing.
