"How did you know I killed Evander?" Sebastian asked curiously.

A flicker of unease crossed Faylin's eyes, and she looked down, avoiding his gaze. "I told you, didn't I? I happened to be passing by and saw you use Chimes Tower to kill him," she replied.

"Was it really just a coincidence?" Sebastian's eyes narrowed as he studied Faylin, trying to discern any hint of deception in her expression.

"Of course it was. Don't try to change the subject. Gaudium Sacred Ground lost one of their elders, and they won't let this go easily. Have you thought of an escape plan?" Faylin asked.

"No one but you knows I killed Evander. As long as neither of us speaks of it, how would Gaudium Sacred Ground ever find out?" Sebastian replied.

"You cut off Calix's arms, and Evander came after you for revenge. Everyone knows about that, yet you say no one knows," Faylin countered.

"Even if they knew he wanted to kill me, no one would suspect I could actually kill Evander. He was in the Intermediate Deity Realm, after all. I could shout it from the rooftops, and people would think I was exaggerating. They'd just assume I was boasting," Sebastian said.

"You're not wrong," Faylin admitted, "but what about Calix? He's an elite disciple of Gaudium Sacred Ground. You severed his arms, and Gaudium won't just let that slide. And with Evander dead, too, they'll hold you accountable. If you don't plan an escape soon, you may not live to see another day."

"Why are you so concerned about me?" Sebastian asked with a teasing glint in his eyes.

"Who says I'm concerned about you?" Faylin replied as her face flushed slightly. "I'm just reminding you as an old acquaintance, that's all." Her cheeks then turned a faint shade of pink, making her look slightly embarrassed.

"There is another way, besides the pills... but I'm not sure you'd be willing to help," Sebastian suggested with a hint of expectation in his eyes.

"What way?" Faylin asked, feeling genuinely curious.

Sebastian clutched his chest in apparent pain before answering, "You know my cultivation method is unique. And you have a spiritual constitution. If you were willing to dual cultivate with me, my injuries would heal much faster."

At that, Faylin's face went from embarrassment to outright anger. She glared at him, exclaiming, "Sebastian Wilder, you're shameless! If I'd known you were like this, I never would've saved you!"
