The person on the bed remained motionless. The only response he received was her light, shallow breathing.

You’ve been a victim in this from the start, yet I imposed my own pain on you, making you suffer with me. I’m really sorry.” Her clear voice, tinged with hoarseness, sounded exceptionally distant in the quiet room.

“Living a second life, I thought I was invincible, but clearly I’m not. I still can’t break free from the shackles of emotion, causing everyone to get hurt along with me. Especially you. You love me so much, yet I’ve made you endure the most. Can you forgive me, okay?”

In the darkness, the man’s bright eyes burned even hotter. Every cell in his body was tense, enduring a pain that any man would find unbearable.

The girl continued, “You’re not saying anything, so I’ll take that as you forgiving me. Also, I love you, Sebastian.” After speaking, she pulled back her arms, released the man’s waist, and prepared to get up and leave.
