Lilian finally realized her actions had just woken a beast. A blush instantly crept onto her face, and she said shyly, “Your mind is in the gutter; you can’t blame that on me.”

Sebastian looked at the girl with deep affection. “Alright, I won’t blame you. I’m the one who’s been plotting against you for a long time. I heard what you said just now. Don’t blame yourself. I’m the one who didn’t protect you well. I promised to give you a life without worries, but I broke my promise and let you suffer all this. I’m the one who should be saying sorry.”

Lilian shook her head. “You’ve already done more than enough for me. I was the one who got stuck in my own head, making you worry and suffer with me. I promise, it will never happen again.”

Sebastian gently stroked the hair on the girl’s forehead. “It’s okay. I will be with you through every step of your growth.”

“Thank you,” Lilian said softly.

Sebastian gave her a roguish smile. “If you want to thank me, then say what you said just now one more time. I want to hear it.”

“Say what?” Lilian asked, her innocent eyes staring at the man.

Sebastian leaned in, closing the distance between them, and looked at the girl enticingly. “Say you love me.”

Lilian looked at the man’s earnest and insistent eyes and said, “I love you.”

The moment she finished speaking, the only sound in the room was that of slightly heavy breathing.

The next day, when everyone saw the master, looking triumphant, leading the girl out of the elevator, they knew the storm had finally passed.

Louis was beaming. “Miss, you’re finally awake!”

Lilian said, a little embarrassed, “Louis, I’m sorry for making you all worry.”

Louis smiled. “It’s no problem. It’s just good that you’re awake.”

Sebastian looked at the girl dotingly. “Let’s go. Go eat first. You haven’t eaten in two days. You must replenish your strength.” He then led the girl toward the dining room.

After breakfast, Lilian decided to go to the hospital to see Isabelle and Elsie. After all, it had been two days, and she didn’t know how they were recovering.

Sebastian asked softly, “Do you need me to go with you?”

“No, it’s okay,” Lilian said, shaking her head. “You’ve probably put off a lot of work because of me. You should go get busy.”

Sebastian thought for a moment. “Alright, then. I’ll have Unno drive you. Call me when you’re done, and I’ll pick you up.”

Lilian nodded. “Okay.”

When she arrived at the hospital, she had just reached the door of the ward when she heard Elsie’s chattering voice. “I wonder how that little ungrateful Lilian is doing. She hasn’t even come to see us.”

Lilian smiled helplessly, pushed open the door, and said, “Elsie, next time you badmouth me, remember to keep your voice down, or you’ll ruin my reputation.”

When Elsie saw Lilian walk in, she ran over excitedly and hugged her. “You’re finally here! You have no idea, I’ve been worried sick about you these past two days! That assistant of your Sebastian’s said you were unconscious the whole time. It made me think you were seriously injured!”

Lilian looked a bit embarrassed. “I’m fine. And, I’m sorry. I caused you both to get hurt so badly. If it weren’t for me, maybe you wouldn’t have been dragged into this.”

Elsie gave Lilian a light smack. “What are you talking about? Are we best friends or not? Why are you being such a stranger? Besides, how can this be blamed on you? If anyone’s to blame, it’s that slut Laney. She’s just despicable and shameless.”

Isabelle chimed in from the side, “She’s right. How can this be your fault? We never expected her to do something like that. And if it weren’t for you, who knows what kind of state Elsie and I would be in? That night, Laney was clearly targeting all three of us, so don’t you dare take all the blame on yourself.”
