Renee gave a dry laugh. “What’s the big deal? If she didn’t want to stay, she went back. But, Dad, you’re not actually suspecting Triny’s disappearance has something to do with me, are you?”

Morten snapped, “You know whether it has anything to do with you or not. I know you have your own plans, and I’ve never interfered, but if you dare involve Triny, don’t blame me for disregarding our father–daughter relationship.”

Renee looked annoyed. “I don’t know what you’re talking about. I’m tired. I’m going upstairs to rest.” She stood up and walked to the stairs.

Morten watched Renee’s retreating figure and sighed deeply, only hoping his suspicions were false.

Leon looked at Morten, puzzled. “Dad, what did you mean just now? How could Triny’s disappearance be related to Qianru?”

“It’s just my guess,” Morten sighed.

Leon asked, “Dad, what should we do now?”

Morten pondered for a moment. “It’s fine. I’ll send people to investigate. Since she called you, it means she’s safe. As long as she’s safe, we’ll find her eventually.”
