With the New Year approaching, debt collectors surrounded the company entrance, making it impossible to conduct normal business operations.

Henry simply took refuge at home, drinking himself into a drunken stupor day and night. Because of the constant phone calls, he even pulled the phone lines out of the wall.

Morgan glanced at the empty seat. “Where is Henry?”

The butler quickly replied, “He’s been locked in his bedroom all day, sir.”

Morgan paused, said nothing more, and quietly ate his meal. Chloe and Beth, sitting nearby, also didn’t dare to speak. This house was now like a ticking time bomb; one wrong move could set it off completely.

After dinner, Morgan went upstairs and opened the bedroom door.

The strong stench of alcohol hit him instantly.

Morgan frowned involuntarily. The bedroom was dim, and he could faintly see a figure lying on the bed.

Morgan walked to the window and yanked open the curtains. The entire bedroom immediately brightened, revealing empty liquor bottles scattered everywhere, even on the bed.

The sudden light made the person on the bed uncomfortable. He shouted angrily, “Who is it?

Get out!”

Morgan snapped, “What, even your own father has to get out?”

Henry forced his eyes open when he heard the voice. Seeing the person standing in front of him, he said irritably, “Dad, it’s you. Is there something you need? If not, let me sleep a bit longer.”

Morgan brought his cane down hard on Henry’s body. “Sleep! Sleep! Sleep! How long do you plan to sleep?”

Henry leaped up, glaring at Morgan. “Dad, what are you doing?”

“What am I doing?” Morgan roared. “I’m trying to wake you up! Are you ignoring the company? You went to great lengths to get those shares and successfully became Chairman. Now what? Go manage the company!”

Henry irritably scratched his messy hair. “I can’t manage it. I don’t want to manage it. Whoever wants to manage it can go ahead.”

“Say that again,” Morgan said coldly.

Henry said directly, “Say it a hundred times, it’s the same. I can’t manage it, and I don’t want to. Whoever wants to manage it can go ahead.”

Morgan watched Henry’s nonchalant expression, so angry he picked up his cane and struck him again. He shouted as he hit him, “I’ll kill you, you good–for–nothing! I’ll pretend I never gave birth to you!”

manage it!”

Beth and Chloe, hearing the commotion, rushed over. Beth shielded Henry with her body. “Old man, what are you doing? Do you really want to beat your son to death?”

Chloe stood beside Morgan and chimed in, “Yes, Grandpa, you’ll kill Dad!”

“I’d rather kill him and have it over with!” Morgan roared. “I’ll pretend I never had this son! The company is in this state, and he won’t try to fix it? He tells me he won’t manage it? Who is supposed to manage it?”

Beth glared at Morgan. “He doesn’t have the ability! You can kill him, and he still won’t be able to fix it. What’s the point? Instead of wasting your time scolding your son, why don’t you think of a way to solve the current crisis?”
