Chapter 797 Leonard’s Resolve
Lilian looked into Leonard’s piercing eyes and cried out, “As long as you are safe, nothing else matters! I just need you to be safe. I’ll do anything you ask!”
Leonard forcefully patted Lilian. “Why are you so foolish? You don’t need to worry about my life or death. Leave here immediately, leave this devil! Do you hear me? I don’t want you to do anything for me. I raised you, and now you are independent. Let our Master–apprentice relationship end right here. From now on, I am no longer your Master, and you are no longer my apprentice. So, don’t worry about my affairs. Go now!” As he finished, his face turned red due to his intense emotions, his breathing became shallow, and he was racked by violent coughs.
Seeing this, Lilian rushed to soothe Leonard’s back, choking out, “Master, don’t get so agitated. Your body is very weak right now; you absolutely must not get upset. This is my fault. I shouldn’t have angered you.”
Leonard finally caught his breath and looked at Lilian. “Then promise me you will leave this place and return to Dracovia. Do you hear me?”
George laughed mockingly. “Leonard, do you really think that’s possible? I went through all this trouble to bring your apprentice here. Do you think I’d let her leave Radovia so easily?”
Lilian looked at George with cold eyes. “Mr. Mildew, you had better watch your mouth. If anything happens to my Master, what leverage do you think you have left over me? So, you’d better pray my Master lives a long life, otherwise, I will drag you and this filthy place down to destruction with him. If you don’t believe me, we can try.”
George stared at the near–destructive fury in the girl’s eyes, and his expression froze. He had never seen such a terrifying look.
Leonard grasped Lilian’s hand, looking intently at her. “Promise me you will leave this place. I know you have the ability, so don’t worry about me, alright? My body has reached its limit; I don’t have many years left to live. I was hoping to at least see you get married, but it seems I won’t. So, promise me you will leave this place. Sebastian will protect you.”
Lilian wept bitterly. “I can’t do it. I truly can’t. I can’t stand by and watch you suffer here and do nothing.”
Seeing the stubbornness in the girl’s eyes, Leonard’s expression suddenly turned cold. “Leave. I am no longer your Master. Since you won’t even listen to my words, I don’t want an disobedient apprentice like you. From now on, we’ll go our separate ways. We have nothing more to do with each other.” He then pushed Lilian away, lay back down, faced the wall, and stopped speaking.

Chapter 797 Leonards Resolve
Lilian looked at Leonard’s cold, dismissive back, wiped the tears from her face, and whispered, “Take care of yourself. You must wait for me. If anything happens to you, I don’t know what I might do that I’ll regret.” She then stood up and walked out.
George
sneered at Leonard’s back and followed Lilian out.
The room door was closed again, and the entire space returned to silence. The old man on the bed covered his face with his hands, his back shaking as muffled, desperate sobs echoed, sounding utterly desolate.
The group returned to the research base and walked into an office. Lilian looked at George and said coldly, “Speak. What research do you want me to do for you?”
