George stared at the near–destructive fury in the girl’s eyes, and his expression froze. He had never seen such a terrifying look.

Leonard grasped Lilian’s hand, looking intently at her. “Promise me you will leave this place. I know you have the ability, so don’t worry about me, alright? My body has reached its limit; I don’t have many years left to live. I was hoping to at least see you get married, but it seems I won’t. So, promise me you will leave this place. Sebastian will protect you.”

Lilian wept bitterly. “I can’t do it. I truly can’t. I can’t stand by and watch you suffer here and do nothing.”

Seeing the stubbornness in the girl’s eyes, Leonard’s expression suddenly turned cold. “Leave. I am no longer your Master. Since you won’t even listen to my words, I don’t want an disobedient apprentice like you. From now on, we’ll go our separate ways. We have nothing more to do with each other.” He then pushed Lilian away, lay back down, faced the wall, and stopped speaking.
