Save My Mate novel Chapter 9

Now that I'm free, I cautiously take steps forward. I wobble a bit here and there, but I get the hang of it. After of taking some steps, I can hear the rustling of leaves behind me. I crane my neck around and see that Theseus was running towards me. On his way, he nudges and runs past me. He swiftly turns around, with his tail high and his hind legs upward, while his front legs were on the ground in a playful manner. He then motions with his head follow him.

He runs, which brings me to no choice to run too since I would've lost sight of him if I didn't. From what I can see, he was following the sound of the stream, which is where exactly I wanted to go. When I see sight of the stream, I quickly run faster and stop a few steps before. I cautiously look downwards at the stream, only not to see my face, but the reflection of a wolf. It had light gray fur, with the tip of the ears black, and one of the hind paws were black.

I look and notice that the tip of my tail was black too. I look back at the stream and realize. This is I, my wolf Aiyana. We finally completed our second shift. It hurt like hell, but when your a wolf, you can say its worth it. The way you see, hear, and smell better is amazing. I feel Theseus getting closer to me and he rests his head on the back of my neck. His wolf was so much bigger than mine, which made my wolf whine at seeing how vulnerable we are out of the pack.

Theseus turns around and walks away, not before flicking his tail on my snout, making my wolf sneezed at the tingly sensation. We quickly follow behind, going back towards the circle. Theseus shifted back, nude may I add. I shifted back and thankfully, my bra and underwear were at reach. My wolf was yelping inside my head because of how great she thought it was to be let out, and I have to agree with her on that one. I turn around, ready to pick up my clothes when I hear Theseus let out a thunderous growl.

I turn around to see his eyes pitch black, taking long strides towards me. I'm confused, and begin to clutch on the clothes I have on my hand out of nervousness. He gently turns me around, and that's when I realize what he was looking at. I can feel him tracing the scar I have on my back. It was a scar of a large X, beginning on both my shoulders, and ending on opposite sides of my lower back.
