"Thank you for your appreciation. I hope this closeness of ours goes beyond the professional level."
"I'd honestly love to. I would like you to meet my husband, Mike. We haven't exactly had a peaceful life either, but that's another story I won't burden you with," I recognized the same pain in her eyes that I had when talking about my life. We may have had so much in common.
"Then I propose we meet sometime. Someday after your book release. It will be our pleasure to have you over for dinner. Won't we, Dominic?" I turned to Dominic, but he was far away, deep in thought. I didn't even have to guess what exactly he was thinking. "Dominic?" I called out to him again, a little louder this time, so he could hear me.
"Yes, baby... excuse me, my mind was elsewhere"
"I bet it was. I was saying maybe after the book release we could all meet for lunch? Us, Emily and her husband Mike?"
"I certainly wouldn't think otherwise. Of course, we'll meet."
"Then it remains settled. Dominic, can you drive Emily home? I assume you're staying somewhere you rented?"
"That's right, but there's no need to bother. I can take a taxi."
"No way! New York is not like London. The streets can be very dangerous at this hour."
"Okay, then if you insist..."
Dominic turned his worried eyes to me.
"Lock the door as soon as we leave and don't open it to anyone. When I come back, we have some very serious talking to do."
BEING TRUTHFUL
Dominic's story
It was incredible how Rebecca ignored the danger she was apparently in. I was sure Zack wouldn't stop at me. He just proved it to me again. What purpose would he serve in following her if not to harm her? Only if I could make her understand the danger, she found herself in.
"We're not having this discussion now! I refuse to have it. I'm not just going to walk away!"
"One thing I know for sure, you're very stubborn!" I couldn't hold back a grin and I walked with my arms wide open to her.
She let herself fall into my embrace, and I could feel her heart pounding. These were the moments I wanted to immortalize in time. There were precious moments with the woman I loved, my Luna. I hadn't marked her yet and probably wouldn't do it soon. It certainly wasn't that I felt unsure of her love. I still didn't know how she felt about this ritual of ours, of werewolves.
It was so soothing to hold her in my arms, and I was sure it was for her, too. I could feel her relaxing, surrendering to the serenity.
I knew exactly what was coming, so I looked down, admiring her. Then she raised her eyes too. It was like calling her in my mind. She seemed so fragile suddenly. I brought her closer, looking for her eager lips. The kiss was almost instantaneous. She arched up, searching for me too, running her hands down my back. Each caress made me want her more. She embodied perfection. I knew every inch of her body and seized every moan of satisfaction. I thrust my tongue deep into her mouth, pulling me even closer to her, diving into me thirstily. We both lost ourselves in that sublime kiss, which seemed to be torn from heaven. It was only a step from here to loving her properly. But I couldn't wait any longer and took her right where I was. I gently slammed her back against the wall behind her, listening to her moan and how my name sounded so perfect on her lips. Alone, she lifted her leg, calling me into her.
