Nathan was practically trembling with rage. He didn't even know why he had insisted on coming here just to subject himself to this humiliation.

His chest heaved violently. Fearing he might explode and fracture their relationship beyond repair, Fiona stepped forward and intervened.

"Every child develops at their own pace. At this stage, he needs to practice crawling. If you don't let him crawl now and he misses this milestone, he might end up walking months later than he should. If you ask me, Remington is already a much better father than you ever were. Isn't that right, little Joy? Is Daddy a good dad?"

Joy, holding onto Fiona's hand, pointed his chubby little finger at Remington.

Remington looked over. He didn't expect the tiny creature to offer any positive response. After all, the little guy acted like he was here solely to collect a debt.

Not only did he steal all the attention, but he also absolutely refused to call him 'Dad.'

To his complete shock, the very next second, Joy waved his little arms frantically, grinned a massive, gummy smile, and shouted happily.

Remington froze completely. Though his face barely betrayed a reaction, it felt as if something immense had slammed into his chest. It took him a long moment to recover.

When he finally snapped out of it, his handsome face was completely overtaken by a beaming smile of pure, paternal pride.

His son knew how to call him Dad!

"Oh my! Joy is so sweet! He's already calling for his daddy. This boy is going to grow up to be so well-behaved and loving."

Fiona was overjoyed. She and Joseph crowded around little Joy, excitedly coaxing him to say 'Great-grandma' and 'Uncle.'

No one paid the slightest bit of attention to Nathan. Yet, the atmosphere in the hospital room was incredibly warm and joyous.

Nathan felt a bitter sting in his heart. Once again, surrounded by this perfect family scene, he was the one discarded, ignored, alienated, and completely unneeded.

He handed Joy over to Joseph, muttered a quick excuse, and walked out.
