At the prison door, William stood in the dim light from outside, his gaze fixed on Amelia, who had been tortured to the point of emaciation.

Despite her condition, his heart was filled with an overwhelming rage.

It had been a week since Margaret’s death.

He had kept vigil by her body for an entire week, and today, Margaret had been forcibly taken for "resurrection."

William felt like a walking corpse, unsure of what else to do. The pain in his heart was unbearable, but he had no outlet to release it.

Finally, he thought of Amelia!

If it hadn’t been for her, Margaret would never have taken the experimental drug, and they would never have broken up. They would have been living happily together now!

Their blissful life together had been destroyed by this woman!

Amelia heard the approaching footsteps but couldn’t hear William’s words.

Fear made her tremble even more, and in a frantic panic, she began waving her arms and legs wildly.

"Get away! Go away!" she screamed.

William watched her frantic movements, his voice cold as ice. "Margaret is dead."

"What?"

Amelia stiffened. Margaret was dead?

She had spent so long cursing Margaret for what she had done—getting her to remove her cornea and sending her here to be tortured. Every day, Amelia had wished for Margaret's death.

But now that she was dead, Amelia didn’t feel the pure satisfaction she had expected.

If she had never crossed paths with William, maybe she and Margaret would have been lifelong friends.

Margaret had been so kind, so good to her.

"Did you come here just to tell me that Margaret is dead?" Amelia asked, her voice sharp with bitterness.

William’s footsteps stopped just in front of her. Amelia tensed up again, the air thick with tension.

She sneered, her voice laced with resentment. "I’ve been tortured by you like this, and now you want to do more to me?"

William’s gaze was filled with cold hatred as he looked at her tortured face.
