Margaret's breath hitched as she stiffly turned around, and sure enough, she saw William’s agonized, crazed face.

She coldly said, “Sir, you’ve got the wrong person.”

Upon seeing Margaret’s face, William’s complexion grew even paler. His pupils trembled, and he looked utterly incredulous. “How is this possible? The back looks just like hers, but the face… why is it different?”

“Why aren’t you her? Why do you look different from her?”

Tears streamed down his face as he spoke in a tortured, almost delirious tone. It felt like he was talking to Margaret, but also to himself. “Margaret, why won’t you come back? I’ve avenged you... Amelia... that bitch! I injected her with bone cancer cells. Everything she did to hurt you, I avenged it all. I watched her die in agony, blood pouring from her every orifice!”

A cold shiver ran up Margaret’s spine, and she froze in place.

Her daughter, seeing such a terrifying figure for the first time, screamed and started crying in Benjamin’s arms.

Margaret quickly covered her ears. “Shut up, stop talking! I don’t know what you’re saying! I’m not the person you're looking for!”

“You can be her replacement. I’ll pay you. Anything you want, I’ll give it to you, as long as you agree to be Margaret’s substitute and stay with me forever!”

William’s eyes lit up.

It had been five years, but he had never seen a woman whose back looked so much like Margaret’s, even though her face was completely different.

It didn’t matter. One more resemblance would be enough.

“It’s impossible. She is my wife!”

Benjamin’s face darkened, and he immediately stood in front of Margaret. “If you don’t leave, I’ll call the police!”

Before Benjamin could even make the call, security guards from the nearby church arrived and forcibly escorted William down the hill.

One of the security team leaders turned to explain to them, “Sorry for the scare, this man used to be the richest man in capital city, William. Five years ago, his wife committed suicide in a fire, and he lost his sanity after that.”

“His family sent him to a psychiatric hospital, but he escaped and came here to cause a scene. He says the church’s safety charms didn’t work and that they killed his wife.”

“He even went mad saying that if his wife couldn’t be brought back to life, he would destroy the church…”

Margaret’s heart sank. William was completely out of his mind now.

Their plan to stay in capital city for a short while was scrapped. After meeting William, Benjamin booked a flight that night, taking Margaret and their daughter back abroad.
