Mia quickly shifted the boys back into proper sleeping positions, smoothing down their tangled pajamas.
Andre placed a protective rail cushion beside Wayne, then pulled the blankets up, tucking them in securely. Staring down at the two boys sleeping so peacefully, he gently brushed a hand through their hair.
"Honey, looking at how Henry and Wayne sleep, it totally reminds me of Molly and me when we went to summer camp. We slept exactly like this," Mia suddenly whispered.
Andre asked, "If you were both asleep, how do you know what your sleeping posture looked like?"
"Oh, Leo was asking for a beating and secretly took a picture of us..." As she spoke, Mia abruptly bit down on her lower lip.
She sneaked a glance at her husband, who was now staring intensely at her. She instantly regretted her words and wanted to bite her own tongue off. "We were wearing our training uniforms! And it was a huge communal sleeping area, it wasn't just Molly and me!"
Andre stood up, wrapped an arm around his wife's shoulders, and pulled her flush against his side. "Let's head back. You can slowly tell me all about what else you guys experienced together."
"Honey, there's nothing else! I swear!"
"Honey, does your offer to send our son to Africa to dig up diamonds for me still stand?"
"Honey, hon—mmph!"
The next morning, Henry woke up and immediately ran to check the door. Huh? It was unlocked?
He distinctly remembered locking it last night after tricking his mom into leaving.
He scurried out into the hall, looking left and right, and noticed his grandpa wasn't awake yet.
He then sprinted toward his parents' bedroom.
He slapped the door with his small hands. "Mom?"
"Come in," Andre's voice called out.
Chad had also gotten up early and went straight to the nursery. Seeing his son sleeping with the blanket pulled over his head, it wasn't long before he carried the yawning boy downstairs. "If Wayne doesn't wake up before I head to the station, absolutely no one will be able to wake Molly up."
Wayne, who had been fast asleep just moments ago, now sat in his chair, his face still groggy as he let out a huge yawn. "Henry."
Henry stood up on his chair, grabbed a sandwich, and handed it over to Wayne.
The maid began serving oatmeal to Chad and his son.
"Chad, it's the end of the year again. The anti-fraud awareness campaigns at your station need to be thorough," Bruce remarked from across the table.
While tending to his son, Chad replied to Bruce's reminder. "I arranged everything yesterday. We're also doing phone outreach."
Wayne took tiny bites of his sandwich. Then, whenever his dad offered him a bite of food, he simply opened his mouth wide, waiting to be fed.
Chad smiled and gently fed his son.
