One car drove off, and Leo's car pulled into its place.

As the lift raised the vehicle, the man grabbed his tools and began a thorough inspection. He meticulously checked for any loose parts and tightened them up, paying close attention to every detail.

Leo walked over, his eyes fixed on those grease-stained hands. "It's a damn shame. Hands that should be soaring effortlessly through the cyber world are now stuck dealing with wrenches."

The words clearly struck a nerve. The man paused and looked back at the younger guy standing there. "Boss, if you're feeling anything off when you drive, let me know. I'll focus the inspection there."

Leo stared right back at him. "The five-year ban is up. Why hasn't Mr. Yates returned to his old profession?"

Mr. Yates put his wrench away, his expression unreadable. "I don't know what you're talking about."

Meanwhile, Chunky was in the back, casually chatting up the other mechanics to get the scoop on Mr. Yates.

"Oh, you mean Yates? He's a veteran around here. The boss is his brother-in-law, Garrett. Yates is a hard worker, super efficient."

Chunky masked the calculating look in his eyes and kept up his chatty facade. "So, how are his skills?"

"He's been doing this for five or six years now. I've only been here for three, but I can definitely vouch for his work."

"Oh! So he went to school for auto repair?"

The cashier shook his head. "Definitely not. When I first started, his skills were terrible. The manager used to yell at him all the time, and he even messed up a few cars. But don't worry, Boss, his skills are top-notch now. He's one of the best in the shop."

Chunky offered a warm, friendly smile and tapped the counter. "I believe it. Do you guys make decent money doing this?"

While Chunky was digging into their finances, Leo was zeroed in on Mr. Yates.

"All that frustration from back then... are you really just going to swallow it?" Leo asked. By the time the question landed, Mr. Yates's hands were clenched into tight fists. The force he was using to inspect the car betrayed the intensity of his emotions.

Leo could see the resentment and the fierce, unresolved ambition burning inside him.

"Boss, the inspection is done. Everything looks good."

Leo nodded. "Pull it to the side and give it a wash."
