I shrugged my shoulders. "It was good", a blush crept on my cheeks. "It was great", I then started giggling.

"Who am I kidding? It was fantastic"

"Well the glow on your face shows that your soul got a good cleansing last night", she winked at me and I laughed. "You must be pretty glad I forced you to shave those legs last night, aren't you?"

"Could you shut up and make me something to eat?"

"Alright", she walked to the other side of the counter. "So, are you going to see him again?"

"Tony?", I rose an eyebrow, and she nodded. "He gave me his numbers, but I doubt I'll ever call him. It was just sex"

"If a guy got me to have that grin on my face like you do right now, I'll probably have him on speed dial", she laughed

"Anna!"

"I'm serious though, clearly there must have been a great deal of chemistry for you to go home with him that easily"

"I wasn't thinking clearly"

"I wasn't thinking clearly", she mimicked me childishly. "That's not true, and you know it"

"Anna-"

"I'm not saying anything more, I'm shutting up now ", she put out both her hands in surrender before her lips turned up in a mischievous smile.

"At least you disappearing on me was actually worth it"

Later that evening when I got to my apartment, I was shocked to discover that the front door was unlocked, I was certain I locked it before I left, or did I?

I pushed it open, already standing back and ready to shout for help in case there was intruder, but then I caught a glimpse of Tristan walking around the lounge with his AirPods plugged in. I sighed a sigh of relieve before I finally stepped inside and closed the door behind me. The sound of the door closing must have gotten his attention because he turned, then smiled at me.

"I'm glad you could finally make it", he took his AirPods out

"How did you get in here?"

"The security guard let me in"

"He let you in?", I retorted. "You could have been a serial killer, and he just let you in?"

"Really? Does this face look like it belongs to a person who goes on killing sprees now and then?", he said smugly as he stroked both his cheeks confidently.

"I guess not", I turned my lips upside down in an impressed frown and he laughed

"If you're wondering how I got in, I convinced the guard that it was your brother, and I'm planning you a surprise birthday party"

I wasn't sure whether to laugh or cry

"My birthday is in five months"

"He doesn't know that now, does he?", he chuckled. "Come and sit next to me, I've got all your favorites"

"I'm glad you're here", she stroked my hair lovingly before kissing my temple. "It's always good to have you home"

"I come home as much as I possibly can", I puffed as I slung my bag over my shoulder, and we walked to the lounge

"I know, but it's not the same anymore. One minute you were here the next you're were all grown up", she pouted her lip and I entwined our arms together.

"You're really adorable, you know that?", I teased, and she playfully pushed me away from her and we laughed

"So where is Rambo?", I referred to my father because apparently after my mother told him what happened between me and Greg, he went to Greg's firm and punched him in front of his associates. Can't say I wasn't happy about it, but he could have at least waited for him in the parking lot or something, and then beat his ass.

"He's in the garden", she led the way. "Nothing you say or do is going to make him regret what he did. To be honest, I don't either".

"Mom!"

She laughed. "You know how your father is, nothing and no one hurts his little girl"

We found him watering his plants, the other one place he truly finds peace and happiness by doing what he absolutely loves, taking care of his garden. He was humming the sounds of his favorite jazz music that he didn't even notice us walking behind him.

"Dad", I tapped him twice on the shoulder, and he jumped back from being startled before a smile spread on his lips when he saw me and engulfed me in a tight hug

"Pumpkin", he picked me up and swirled us around before he placed me down again and kissed my forehead. "I'm so happy you're home"

I didn't show any emotion as I tapped my foot on the ground with my arms folded. He frowned before he turned to my mother.

"You told her about me hitting that boy, didn't you?"
