"What's that have to do with this?", she asked in a dull tone while blinking her eyes slowly, and I rolled my eyes
"The guy that just walked out of here is the same guy I slept with that night"
She paused for a second, really looking confused as she seemed to connect all the dots together in her mind while stroking her chin, making her thinking pose
"This guy just said his name is Nathaniel and if I remember correctly you told me the guy you slept with that night was Anthony. Like I don't understand, was he catfishing you?"
"Anthony happens to be his middle name. He's actually Nathaniel, as in Mellisa's cousin".
"Wait", she put up her index finger. "The same Nathaniel Kevin and Sarah were talking about that they had come with to the club?", she questioned, and I nodded my head.
"Yep"
"The same guy who didn't show up for dinner that night?"
"The one and only"
"Well, isn't this a bitch?", her jaw dropped in surprise before she folded her arms again. "So, you guys are now dating here or am I missing something?"
"We're just friends"
"You can't be just friends with someone you're sleeping with"
"Whoa, back up", I held out my hands at her, telling her to chill for a second. "Who said anything about us sleeping together?"
"Do I look dumb to you?", she narrowed her eyes at me. "The sexual tension in here was so thick I could cut it with an axe"
"Really?", I asked surprised, and she placed both hands on her head, initiating an explosion with her fingers at how intelligent she is at figuring this out
"So you're using him as a rebound?", she questioned and that wasn't a hard question, but I kinda hesitated for a second
"Not in so many words but-"
"So you are using him as a rebound", she interrupted before shaking her head, making that tsk tsk sound
"Shame on you, Liv"
"We have a mutual understanding about the whole thing, and he doesn't seem to have a problem with it, so", I put up my hands in a surrender, and she studied me for a second
"So much for being done with men", she mimicked my voice childishly as she stood to her feet. "Well, I just came here to check up on you and you look a lot better than you did yesterday"
"I feel better actually"
"I wonder why", she added sarcastically and I laughed. "Well, I'll be back after work so that you can tell me everything"
"I pretty much expected that", I did that nodding with the face thing
"And don't you dare leave this apartment until I get back, you're still sick", she ordered, and I gave a mini salute
"Ma'am yes ma'am"
"Do you want me to get you anything at the stores when I come back?"
"Not at the moment, but I'll text you if I do"
I knocked twice and waited. The door pulled open, with him standing opposite me wearing his casual clothes, looking twice as good-looking than he already does.
"Hi", I gave a little smile, and he gave a short nod
"Olivia Davis", he said curtly as he invited me in and closed the door behind me. "You must be here for our session"
"Come on", I laughed a little. "You can't still be mad about that"
"I'm not mad", his face showed no expression as he shrugged. "I'm just saying it wouldn't hurt if you acknowledged what was happening between us just for once. We can't be a secret forever".
"I know and I'm sorry"
"It's fine", he opened his arms wide, gesturing for a hug. "Come here"
I walked up to him, wrapping my arms around his neck and he locked me in his warm embrace and I could swear I felt him breathe out a sigh of relief, holding onto me
"I missed you", I heard him whisper against my ear before slowly pulling away from me, almost like he didn't want to but had to, to avoid overstepping boundaries
"I missed you too", I admitted truthfully, and he pressed his lips on my forehead before entwining our hands together
"I'm glad you came", he twirled me around so that he could hug me from behind, and I got a clear view of his large and spacious, partially furnished apartment
"I thought I was helping you with moving your stuff in here, you didn't tell me the apartment was already furnished"
"If by furnished you mean this couch and the king-sized bed in the other room then yeah, it's totally furnished", he said humorously while folding his arms across his chest
"I see", I gave a nod of understanding before peeking into one of the boxes. "So where do you want me?"
