The Breath Of Life novel Chapter 76

So I laid flat on the ground, my head buried in the snow. So I decided I rather die, than seeing Light hurt.

A hour or so passed, and death wasn't coming. My breath came out of puffs of hot air.

Why can't I die, please let me die.

That's when I heard a growl, I looked up at a wolf. It was smaller, it was a wild wolf.

It had black fur with snow clamped to it's sides. Maybe it will kill me.

So I bared my throat to the wolf. It growled, but didn't move. That's when a female wolf was at its side, she had brown fur, I can smell others from behind them.

A little pup came through it's mother's legs. It had a reddish fur with brown and black. The black wolf nudged my side. I got up slowly and walked with them.

We made it to a cave where leaves, hay, and grass was all over the floor. I walked to the very end of the cave and lay down.

I watched the black wolf walked out of the cave and left. The little pup curled at my side and we both slept.

Lightning's POV

Christmas without Zach was hard. Everyone was here opening presents. Tim got me a sketch book, Mary and Daniel got me a book called Mortal Instruments City of Bones, I was excited about that.

Elmo got me a hunting knife even if I told him I already have one, Mike and Brandon got me a prank book which I thought was funny and Jo got me a tea pot with a wolf paw print on it.

Star gave me a stone that had greek symbol on it, and John gave me a shirt that says, 'Keep Calm and scream along' I laughed a little.

All of a sudden the door was shaking or something was ramming into it, then the door burst open.

A black wolf came in, I thought it was Zach until I saw it's eyes. Tim turned into his wolf and jumped onto the wolf. They fought until I pulled off Tim and growled at him.

Tim looked confused, but went upstairs to put some clothes on.

I remember waking up to see Tim above me smiling. We talked about Marissa's old pack, and how I killed the Alpha. Marissa is doing really good, I had to explain about what I am, but I didn't say anything else expect about me being a shifter.

Now back to reality.

The wolf stayed by my side as John took Lilly into his arms. "Why is there a wolf in my house?" I placed my hand on my old Alphas head.

My Alpha was by my side watching me play with his hair. I pulled Zach's head to my lap and rubbed his head.

A little pup was laying by him, curling by his side. I grabbed the handcuffs and broke them until his hands were limp by his side. His breathing was harsh, every few minutes he'll cough.

I ran a hand down his face, bruises were around his eyes, chin, and he has a busted lip. I kissed his champed lips, then I started crying.

Tears rolled down my face, big and small. I was shaking till I heard a voice, a tiny voice.

I looked down to see Zach has his eyes open and he was looking at me with love. I kissed him hard, our lips moved with each other.

I drew him closer as he pulled me down. His hands were sliding up and down my back as my hands were on his chest. We broke apart to breath.

"I missed you." Zach said, then kissing me again.

"I miss you even more." I kissed his eyes, nose, cheeks, then his lips. I kissed his neck and breathed in his scent. Spice and pine needles.

"We need to get you out of here. How did you escape from my Uncle?" I said pulling him up.
