Just then, Dylan walked over.

Mrs. Reed's heart skipped a beat. 'Mr. Austin?' she said quickly. 'We were just chatting with your mother, and we didn't expect her to get upset. We certainly didn't mean any harm.'

Mrs. Lee chimed in, 'That's right, Mr. Austin. Please tell her that we meant nothing by it and that she shouldn't take it to heart.'

Mrs. Lee's tone was fawning. She didn't want to offend Dylan, the cash cow she hoped to latch onto by setting him up with her niece and marrying into the Austin family.

Hearing this, Dylan frowned. Why was his mother here?

He looked at Mrs. Lee and Mrs. Reed, his voice cold. 'What did you say to her?'

'I didn't really say much,' Mrs. Lee said, omitting the more sensitive parts. 'I just thought since you weren't married, I'd offer to introduce you to a nice girl, and then your mother got angry.'

After giving her edited version of the story, she pressed her advantage. 'By the way, Mr. Austin, how about I show you a picture? My niece is quite a beauty.'

Mrs. Lee was determined to marry her niece into the Austin family and couldn't wait to secure the connection. She quickly pulled out her phone to show off a picture.

But Dylan didn't even glance at it. His eyes turned icy as he said mercilessly, 'Mrs. Lee, you seem to have a lot of time on your hands to be meddling in other people's affairs. If you're so bored, perhaps you should worry about Mr. Lee. I hear his company has been suffering heavy losses and is on the brink of bankruptcy.'
