Footsteps sounded at the door.

Matthew showed Otto and Durban into the room. Everyone inside was too busy to even notice them walking in.

Otto was confused, trying to figure out who all these people were—there was an old man, a young woman, a stunning lady, and guys in their 20s, 30s, and 40s.

Sebastian was the last to enter the room. He took a seat at an empty spot and started playing with his phone, fiddling with it in his hand. He looked so laid-back like he was back home.

Matthew cleared his throat, and people inside the room turned to him.

Smiling, Matthew announced, "I'd like you all to meet a friend of mine. The person next to me is Otto, and he'll be working here from now on. He's a doctor, practicing modern medicine."

Matthew stressed the word "modern medicine" as he introduced Otto.

All eyes were on Otto, and everyone looked puzzled. With all the traditional medicine practitioners around, having a doctor practicing modern medicine was like having a fish out of water. They were all baffled.

Matthew continued, "Otto talks about traditional medicine being a form of mysticism. Even if it helps a little, it's like the witch doctors from thousands of years ago. It's primitive, backward, and foolish."

Everyone's expression changed, looking at Otto indignantly.

Realizing the situation was off, Otto turned to Matthew and asked, "Who are these people?"

Matthew chuckled. "They're all traditional medicine practitioners."

Otto was taken aback for a second, then his expression became awkward. It made sense why everyone gave him those looks.

He smiled nervously and explained, "Don't hold it against me. I'm just addressing the issue, not attacking anyone personally. I don't have a problem with any of you. My point is just about traditional medicine as a whole."

Kingston jumped up and snapped, "What's the problem with traditional medicine? If it works and saves lives, what's the issue? Who are you to belittle it and call it outdated and dumb?"
